Audi unveils Chinese stretched version of Q6 e-tron at Beijing Auto China. The first model on the PPE platform will be manufactured at the new plant in Changchun.
The manufacturer emphasizes that the Audi Q6 e-tron is one of the first production models on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform in the premium electric mobility segment. The production version will debut in the fourth quarter of 2024, and customers will receive ordered vehicles in 2025.
The new Audi Q6L e-tron will pleasantly surprise you with its driving and charging performance, efficiency and even greater range than the global model. The wheelbase extended by 105 millimeters also allows for the installation of a larger battery, which will extend the range by more than 700 kilometers.
The updated front end with the evolution of the face of the Audi brand sets its own accents in the version for China – exclusive colors will be used. The lilac gray shown on the Beijing model's exterior is one of them.
Powerful, compact and highly efficient electric motors and a newly developed lithium-ion battery consisting of 12 modules and 192 prismatic cells with a total capacity of 107 kWh provide a range of the above-mentioned more than 700 kilometers.
Thanks to 800 volt technology and a maximum DC charging power of 270 kW as standard, the Audi Q6L e-tron will take little time to charge. Up to 260 kilometers of range can be charged in just ten minutes at a suitable charging station (High Power Charging, HPC). The state of charge (SoC) will increase from 10 to 80 percent within 25 minutes.
The Q6L e-tron will be offered as a rear-wheel drive version with a system output of 255 kW and quattro all-wheel drive with a system output of 345 kW. The rear-wheel drive version offers significant efficiency and range, while the quattro version provides excellent grip and driving dynamics.
Audi will introduce a range of China-specific driver assistance features to the Q6L e-tron, including Adaptive Driving Assistant Pro and Parking Assistant Pro. Based on a comprehensive sensor system (including lidar and radar sensors, cameras and ultrasonic sensors) and V2X technology, these functions will assist the driver in much wider driving and parking scenarios than any previous Audi model.
Together with several additional features such as reverse assist, the Q6L e-tron will open up entirely new dimensions of comfort and safety for Chinese customers.
The Audi Q6L e-tron and other models for the Chinese market based on the PPE platform will be created at the new plant in Changchun. The Audi FAW NEV production site and headquarters is the first Audi plant in China to produce exclusively electric vehicles.
There is no word yet on the cost of the new product.
