In November 2023, average prices for Mazda CX-5 2016 to 2021 sold at American IAAI and Copart auctions decreased by $200.
Mazda CX-5 is a fairly popular crossover in Ukraine, but there are not too many of them in the USA. Also due to demand from Ukraine, prices at IAAI and Copart insurance auctions remained quite high for a long time.
However, the closure of the Black Sea ports due to the war significantly reduced the volume of car imports from the United States to our country, and accordingly, the demand for some cars fell. Among them is the second generation Mazda CX-5 (2016 to 2021).
According to trading statistics at these auctions, which are monitored by the AutoAstat resource, during 2022 the final bids for these cars ranged from $6,700 to $8,000. In 2023, prices began to decline and reached a minimum of $5,715 based on trading results in November 2023.
Dynamics of final prices at American auctions for the Mazda CX-5 (2016 – 2021):
In the USA, Mazda CX-5 is sold mainly with 2.5-liter gasoline engines (2.0 is not found in this generation) with 187 horsepower. The drive is also most often front-wheel drive, with a six-speed automatic transmission.
In the USA, the Mazda CX-5 is sold in several trim levels: Sport (the poorest), Touring, as well as the rich Grand Select and Grand Touring. For 2020, even more luxurious Grand Touring Reserve and Signature versions were added, which received a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 250 hp.
The average price of $5,715 for the second-generation Mazda CX-5 at US auctions does not mean that the car will cost that amount. After all, at these auctions cars are sold after insured events, that is, they need to be put in order. In addition, due to transport problems, transportation of cars from the USA has become significantly more expensive, and don’t forget about customs clearance. Therefore, in Ukraine, such cars will cost at least 16-18 thousand dollars. However, this is also more profitable than on the domestic market.
