Ukrainian defenders reinforced the Kharkov sector of the front with German Leopard 1A5 tanks, which proved to be much more effective than Soviet-era armored vehicles.
In particular, the Ukrainian specialized resource NGO “Ukrainian Military Center” and the French news agency AFP spoke about the successful use of these vehicles against Russian occupiers.
According to their testimony, the military praises the German armored vehicle and notes that in battle it is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 5 kilometers.
At the same time, it is reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be strengthened even more with such tanks, since by the end of the year “Germany is preparing to supply more than 100 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine.”. These will be Leopards in version A5.

Deliveries under other contracts for this particular vehicle are also being prepared.. Let's say the German armored vehicle plant Rheinmetall has begun fulfilling an order to supply Ukraine with a new batch of military equipment, including Leopard 1 tanks.
Under a contract with the Ukrainian government, the amount of which was not disclosed, the concern undertook to repair and modernize 25 Leopard 1A5 tanks.
It is also reported that a tranche of Leopard 1A5DK is expected after the repair of tanks from Denmark.
