Nikolaev will still get rid of transit traffic

The State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development of Ukraine has undertaken to relieve Nikolaev from transit transport, transfer part of the flow outside the city and repair the Varvarovsky and Ingulsky bridges.

This information was announced on his Facebook page by the head of this department, Mustafa Nayem.. In particular, he emphasized that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine recently transferred these bridges to state ownership and now the Reconstruction Agency plans to professionally and systematically approach the issues of relieving the regional center from transit flows.

According to Mustafa Nayem, both bridges no longer meet the needs of the city and hinder the logistics of international transport corridors, including grain routes.

It is reported that in the near future “a detailed examination will be carried out and the actual condition of the bridges, residual life, possible loads and the necessary measures for their repair or reconstruction will be established.”

The work plan provides for:

Together with the international cooperation agency JICA (Japan), we are working on a project for the construction of a highway bypassing Nikolaev. This is important in order to relieve congestion on the roads of the regional center and repair the Varvarovsky and Ingulsky bridges; it is planned that the travel time bypassing Nikolaev will be only 8 minutes, whereas now through the city it is 1 hour or even more; the restoration service in the Nikolaev region has already developed a feasibility study for construction and ordered a construction project; we are starting the construction of a transport interchange on the M-14 highway (km 121+360) with a length of 3.5 km; We are working on projects for the reconstruction of the M-14 highway on the section km 110+000 – km 126 + 000 (we should receive an examination in December), the construction of a bridge crossing over the Southern Bug (we are completing the design) and the construction of an interchange, M-14 km 142+800.

The author of the post reports that a tender for the construction of the above interchange will be announced in the near future and invited bridge-building and specialized companies to take part in the tenders.
