Rating of the cheapest electric vehicles in 2024

Just a few years ago there were few electric vehicles available.. However, the electric car market is becoming more and more popular every year and now there are more and more cheap electric cars.

The price of electric vehicles depends on its equipment, and in particular on the battery capacity, the offered range, the number of electric motors, acceleration speed and dimensions.

Nissan Leaf

Nissan Leaf became one of the founders of the affordable electric vehicle segment. The current generation of the model still remains one of the most attractive offers on the market. It is offered with front-wheel drive and has a range of approximately 400 km. However, it is worth noting that there are versions that use the outdated CHAdeMO charging standard.

Volvo EX30

Volvo's new entry-level electric car is inexpensive, not cheap. It has a beautiful, simple interior and is generously loaded with features.. Plus, this EX30 is one of the safest in its class.. Recently, the official presentation of the Volvo EX30 took place in Ukraine.

On the Ukrainian market the car is offered in three trim levels. Basic – rear-wheel drive with 272 hp engine. and a 51 kW/h battery, and a range of 344 km. The price starts at 32,000 euros, but it is worth noting that moving from configuration to configuration significantly increases the cost.

Hyundai Kona Electric

Kona Electric recently received an update and now has more interior space. The car is offered exclusively with single-wheel drive. The Electric SE trim has a 133-horsepower engine paired with a 48.6-kWh battery, with a predicted range of 470 km.

Electric SEL and Limited variants get a powerful 201-horsepower engine paired with a 64.8-kWh battery that Hyundai says is good for a range of 250 miles.

Volkswagen ID.4

The VW ID.4 electric crossover has become the most popular electric car in Ukraine in 2023. This is easily explained by its quality characteristics, which the buyer receives for a fairly modest price.. The cost of an imported model from China starts at $30,000. In addition, the ID.4 is significantly larger than its competitors.

The all-wheel drive version of the crossover is equipped with an 82 kW/h battery and two electric motors with a total power of 312 hp. The power reserve of the electric vehicle is about 400 km.

Tesla Model 3

Model 3 is one of the most popular electric sedans in the world. The model is equipped with both mono and all-wheel drive. The basic rear-wheel drive version can travel 440 km on a single charge, while the version with two electric motors offers a range of 550 km.

Nissan Ariya

Nissan Ariya, the second electric car of the Nissan brand, impresses with its strong technical characteristics, good price and original interior. The base FWD engine provides a range of 350 km. The cost of an imported model from China starts at $30,000, which makes the car a direct competitor to the VW ID.4 in our country. An all-wheel drive model is also available, but costs significantly more.

Toyota bZ4X

The first true electric car from Toyota, the bZ4X offers a rather unusual exterior and interior design that may not be to everyone's taste. Base front-wheel drive versions, imported from China, can also be purchased for $30,000. An all-wheel drive version of the car is also available. The Toyota bZ4X has a 71.4 kilowatt-hour battery that provides approximately 400 km of range.
