The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the receipt of two new Dozor multi-purpose armored vehicles, the development of which was carried out by Kharkov designers, into the departmental vehicle fleet.
Armored cars of modification “B” came in a special version. They are adapted to the needs of reconnaissance and sabotage mobile groups and, consisting of 11 paratroopers in full equipment (combat vehicle commander, driver, gunner and up to 8 armed paratroopers) and additional ammunition, can carry out an autonomous raid over a distance of 700 kilometers.
The vehicle weighs 8.55 tons and is 5.8 m long and is divided into two compartments: the engine and transmission module and the module for the crew and troops. The crew compartment occupies the central part with the driver and commander's workplaces, behind them is the gunner's workplace, and in the stern is the troop compartment.
In the protected hood niche there is a 4-cylinder diesel engine Deutz BF 4M 1013 FC with a power of 190 hp, but the engine mount there is made in such a way that even in field conditions a motor of a similar size group with similar parameters can be installed there. It uses an Allison LCT 1000 5-speed automatic transmission, a 2-speed transfer case, which is connected to wheel drives, front and rear final drives and driveshafts. The drive on both axles is constant.

On its page in the Telegram channel, the Main Intelligence Directorate declassified some of the combat properties of the vehicle and some innovative solutions. In particular, we are talking about equipping the combat module with a 12.7 mm installation and a 30 mm automatic grenade launcher.
As for innovations, video cameras and thermal imaging optics were installed here, which allows you to identify the enemy and conduct targeted fire regardless of the time of day, including. in complete darkness and in conditions of poor visibility due to snowstorm or fog. Under such circumstances, the driver can drive an armored car, since his workplace is equipped with a night vision device.
It is reported that the next replenishment of the vehicle fleet will significantly strengthen the units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, which perform tasks on the line of combat contact with the Russian occupiers.
