Tesla Cybertruck: official presentation of the production model

The presentation of the production Tesla Cybertruck will take place live on the social network X (formerly known as Twitter).

We really can't remember the last time there was so much buzz around a new car.. The Cybertruck isn't all that new, considering Tesla first revealed it three years ago.. Yes, the official premiere took place on November 21, 2019 at the company’s design studio in Los Angeles. Today's event is not a reveal per se, but rather a show during which the first production-ready trucks will be handed over to the first users.

Tesla set up a live stream on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to show all the action from today's delivery event. It will take place in Austin at Gigafactory Texas, where the Cybertruck finally enters mass production. The design isn't much of a secret, but we think there are some interesting details waiting to be revealed later today.

Then these are the technical specifications that have undoubtedly changed in the three years since the Cybertruck's debut. This electric train will be able to tow up to 5 tons and carry 1133 kilograms in the trunk.. These are essentially the only confirmed details so far, so there's a lot we don't know about what's hiding under those truck's many edges.. Single, dual and triple engine versions are expected, and there may or may not be a four-motor flagship. Tesla Chairman Elon Musk said the plan is to create a powerful model, but did not say how many engines it would have.

Another big piece of the puzzle is battery size.. It is estimated that the Standard Range model will have 120 kWh and the Long Range version will have 160 kWh, but these are not official figures. The exact weight also remains a mystery, although Musk has said it is between 2,700 and 3,200 kilograms depending on configuration.

The features promised by Tesla are equally interesting, ranging from “shatter-resistant” glass to a “bulletproof” body. The Cybertruck will also get a front trunk, a power tonneau cover and a giant windshield wiper.. Oh, and the charging port is neatly integrated into the driver's side rear fender trim.

What about the size? The exact dimensions remain a secret, but we do know that the stainless steel-bodied pickup will be around 5.7 meters long.

The last three years have been filled with rumors and speculation, but the juicy gossip ends today. Tesla is going to tell us everything we need to know about its extremely controversial truck and will finally begin deliveries. The company's product design director, Javier Verdura, said only 10 units would be delivered to the event.. That's a drop in the ocean compared to the estimated (and unconfirmed) two million pre-orders.
