Dagestan power engineers force miners to turn off equipment

The North Caucasus-Dagenergo branch of the Rosseti state corporation publicly demanded that the owners of cryptocurrency mining farms turn off their equipment.

In the Republic of Dagestan, interruptions in the operation of the energy network have been recorded, and miners are to blame. Representatives of Rosseti claim that the load increases at certain periods of time, which indicates the activity of farms for the extraction of virtual assets.

A critical situation with the load on the power grid has developed in several residential areas of the city of Makhachkala, power engineers complain. Dagenergo specialists urge you not to overload the networks during this unusually cold winter – in some places the temperature drops to -13 degrees, which is uncharacteristic for the republic.

In the Palmira area of the Reduktorny village on the outskirts of Makhachkala, city power grid specialists conduct raids in the morning in search of miners. Cryptocurrency miners are going to be punished for illegally connecting to networks and consuming electricity in excess of the stated norm.

For the second year now, the State Duma has been trying to pass a package of bills to regulate mining. The head of the Committee on Financial Markets, Anatoly Aksakov, promised that the documents would be adopted this spring.
