The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has decided to delay its verdict on BlackRock's application to launch a spot exchange-traded fund for ether. The exact date is March 10 this year.
As SEC Chairman Gary Gensler clarified, there is no need to create excessive hype around the spot Ethereum ETF. More time is needed to consider BlackRock's application, taking into account the requirements of US law, the official explained vaguely.
Earlier, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce expressed confidence that companies would not have to go to court to convince the regulator to approve exchange-traded funds on Ethereum.
