The Bitcoin industry lost $343 million in November from hacks and scams.

Losses in the crypto industry as a result of 296 cases of hacking and fraud in November exceeded $343 million. This is the highest monthly figure since the beginning of the year, according to the Immunefi report.

Compared to October, the figure increased by 15.4 times. Total damage in 2023 has already reached $1.75 billion.

The main vector of attacks in November was the CeFi sector with 53.8% of total losses. The growth of the indicator compared to DeFi was mainly due to hacks of the centralized platforms Poloniex, HTX and Kronos Research.

Hacker attacks resulted in losses for the month of more than 335.5 million (97.8% of the total), while fraud accounted for only ~$7.5 million (2.2%).

In terms of blockchains, the leader was BNB Chain – 22 incidents and 53.7% of damage. The corresponding figures for Ethereum are 12 and 29.3%.

Let us remind you that in the third quarter, losses of the Web3 ecosystem from hacking and fraud amounted to $685.5 million.
