Where did almost 2,000 Starknet airdrop participants disappear?

Yearn Finance developer @Bantg discovered that almost 2,000 accounts of Starknet airdrop participants have disappeared from the list.

Starknet is preparing to launch

@Bantg reported that about 2,000 addresses eligible to receive the long-awaited Starknet token have either changed the name of their accounts or deleted them completely since the snapshot appeared.

Airdrop hunters use scripts to then combine many different addresses into one. Thus, in March 2023, it turned out that 1,496 wallets of such a hunter received Arbitrum (ARB) tokens worth $3.38 million to just 2 addresses.

The developer claims that 1,175 of the supposed 1,854 renamed accounts have identical historical GitHub IDs. Excluding these accounts from the snapshot will reduce the number of wallets eligible for the airdrop by 701,544.

The project will distribute 10 billion STRK tokens

Starknet's public launch is scheduled for February 20. Only wallets that have used the Starknet network more than five times over three months or more and have made transactions of at least $100 before the end of 2023 will be eligible to participate in the STRK airdrop.

Currently, 10 billion Starknet tokens have been minted and will be distributed to investors, employees, developers, community and end users in September 2024.
