According to Videocardz, global sales of the Radeon RX 7900 GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) video card will start on February 27, an accelerator that was previously sold only in China. The cost will be $550 (in the US), which is exactly the same price as the GeForce RTX 4070 after Nvidia reduced the price of this model with the release of the GeForce RTX 4070 Super.
Obviously, the Radeon RX 7900 GRE will compete directly with the GeForce RTX 4070, but AMD points out the advantages of its graphics card: at 1440p, it is faster in games by between 1 and 32 percent. On average, the Radeon RX 7900 GRE will provide 14% more FPS per dollar compared to the GeForce RTX 4070.
Radeon RX 7900 GRE is built on a Navi 31 XL GPU with 80 compute units and 5120 stream processors, 16 GB GDDR6 memory. In AMD's current lineup, the Radeon RX 7900 GRE sits between the Radeon RX 7900 XT and 7800 XT, which cost $700 and $490 in the US, respectively.. The Radeon RX 7900 GRE has 33% more thread cores than the RX 7800XT, but due to the 260W power cap, the performance of the two models is very similar.
