Dacia has never pursued new functions and technologies; instead, the company relied on simple solutions and reasonable minimalism in equipment. However, new regulatory changes in Europe require that models sold in this market be equipped with a basic package of safety systems. And to ensure that current cars continue to be sold in the EU (remember, it was the new rules that caused the current generations of Porsche Macan, Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ to leave the market), Dacia updated four of its models at once – Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Logan and Jogger.

In accordance with the new GSR II (Global Safety Rule II) requirements of the European Union, which come into force in July 2024, all these Dacia models are now equipped with: a data recorder (black box), alcohol lock, traffic sign recognition system with speed warning speed, lane departure warning system, lane keeping assist system, parking assistant, light and rain sensors, auto braking system. If previously some ADAS systems relied on data from a camera installed in the bumper, now the camera has been moved to the windshield.

These are not all innovations: the cars received new rims, as well as new colors. USB-A ports in the cabin have been replaced with USB-C ports, and the Dacia Jogger Hybrid 140 has a digital dashboard with a 7-inch screen, like the new Duster. The hybrid also features “E-Save” technology, which maintains the battery charge level at 70%.
