The world's largest aircraft engine has been tested at full power. Rolls-Royce UltraFan is capable of generating thrust up to 50 tons

Rolls-Royce created a demonstrator of the huge UltraFan aircraft engine late last year, and this year the company began testing the power plant. There have already been tests at partial power, and a few days ago Rolls-Royce announced that the UltraFan had also been tested at maximum power.

At the same time, UltraFan ran on 100% clean aviation fuel (Sustainable Aviation Fuel, SAF). Rolls-Royce has announced that not only the UltraFan, but the company's entire range of civil engines are 100% SAF compatible. The series includes the following engine models: Trent 700, Trent 800, Trent 900, Trent 1000, Trent XWB-84, Trent XWB-97, Trent 7000, BR725, Pearl 700, Pearl 15 and Pearl 10X. The BR710 business jet engine is the latest to be certified as compatible for operation exclusively on SAF.

UltraFan is the largest and most powerful jet engine in the world. It received a fan with a diameter of 140 inches (355.6 cm), and the power is 64 MW – approximately 85.8 thousand. hp. UltraFan is capable of generating thrust of up to 50 tons, and in the future it can be used on both narrow- and wide-body aircraft.
