Now WhatsApp messenger users can not only create folders with locked chats that require a password to open, but also make them invisible in searches. This will come in handy if the phone ends up in the wrong hands.

Earlier this year, WhatsApp introduced a chat blocking feature.. It allowed users to group chats into a folder that could only be opened with a fingerprint, face scan or password.

The messenger update improves this function, taking away from unauthorized persons even the ability to find such chats on the phone. As stated in the WhatsApp blog post, viewing the list of such chats can now be hidden behind a password that must be entered in the search.

“You'll have the option to hide your Locked Conversations folder from your list of chats so they can only be found by entering your passcode in the search bar,” the post says.

As shown in the example provided, letters, numbers, and special characters can be used as a password. Even emojis will do.

WhatsApp notes that whether blocked chats are shown in the general chat list can always be set in settings. And in order to replenish the folder Locked Conversations” with new chat, opening options is no longer necessary. You can simply click on the desired conversation in the general list of chats and hold, then the corresponding settings will appear.

NV Techno wrote that messenger users received a new call protection feature the day before. It allows you to hide your IP address from your interlocutor.
