The 24th seeded at the tournament, Ukrainian Angelina Kalinina, was frankly unsuccessful in her first round match at the Australian Open. In the confrontation with the Dutch Arancha Rus, the Ukrainian took only one game.
The overall score of the match is 6:1, 6:0 in favor of the Russians.
Kalinina became the third Ukrainian out of seven represented at the tournament who could not make it past the first round. Daria Snigur and Yulia Starodubtseva had already been eliminated earlier.
