Euro 2024 will use a high-tech ball

Adidas has unveiled a ball with the latest technology that will be used at Euro 2024, The Times writes.

The ball will have a microchip installed that will track hand play. It will work in tandem with football players' limb tracking technology.

The arbitrators who were shown the technology in action were greatly impressed by its accuracy.

In addition, the microchip will be able to record the exact time when the ball was hit. In theory, this should help with offside detection.

It is not yet known whether this technology will be used in other tournaments due to its high cost.

It was also previously reported that the Premier League had entered into a record deal for the sale of rights.
