Guardiola apologized to the footballer for critical comments about him

Following his move to West Ham, Kalvin Phillips has spoken out about his resentment towards Pep Guardiola.

The Manchester City manager once said that the midfielder returned from the World Cup in Qatar “overweight” and that he would not play or train until he was back in shape.

Ahead of the rescheduled match against Brentford, the City's Spanish coach apologized for such a comment, The Telegraph reports.

Asked if he regretted his comments, Guardiola replied: “Yes, I'm very sorry. Once every eight years is not bad. But I'm really sorry. I apologize to him. I am sorry. I'm really sorry”.
