LeBron James breaks Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's NBA record

In the regular season National Basketball Association (NBA) game, in which the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, visiting leader LeBron James surpassed Hall of Famer and six-time NBA champion Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the number of minutes played in the playoffs and regular championships.

Before the game, Abdul-Jabbar had 66,297 minutes played.

Note that the top five for this indicator also includes power forward Karl Malone, who played 62,759 minutes, five-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant (57,278) and Dallas Mavericks champion Dirk Nowitzki, who played 57,263 minutes.

In February 2023, LeBron James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in total career regular-season points. Abdul-Jabbar continues to rank first in minutes played with 57,446. James has 54,635.
