Maguchikh won the stage in New York and set a competition record

Yaroslava Maguchikh won the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold stage in New York with a score of 2.04 meters. The Ukrainian jumper won her second international victory since the beginning of the 2024 season. The previous championship result was 2.04 m, performed in Essen, Germany.

The world champion cleared a height of 2.00 m on her third attempt and set a competition record – no one had jumped two meters before her in New York. After this, the Ukrainian tried to take the height at 2.05, but she failed.

The second step with a result of 1.97 m went to the owner Vashti Cunningham (USA), bronze went to Naval Meniker from France (1.86 m).
