On January 19, a short individual World Cup race took place in Antholz, Italy, in which Anastasia Merkushina showed the best result among Ukrainians (13th).
“It’s really very difficult to run in the mountains due to lack of oxygen. I can’t say that it was easy today – it was quite hard. But Antholz is my place. It seems that it’s easier for me here than for other participants. I don’t know why. Let’s just say that when I was younger, it was even much easier than it is now.”
“There are no special thoughts (before the next races) as such. This is work that we need to try to work out, do everything possible to show the best result with the opportunities that I now have. We are preparing, working, God willing, everything will be good,” said Merkushina.
