No games: Italy coach forbids players to bring PlayStation to training camp

The head coach of the Italian national team, Luciano Spalletti, has decided to prohibit players from bringing PlayStation to the national team’s camp.

“I have to put up with cell phones, but they can't be kept on the massage table or during treatments. I was talking about video games because there were things I didn't like, and please don't write in capital letters.

I want to revive the team meetings of the past, old habits and atmosphere. Simple and useful things. And Buffon will help me with this. If modernity means playing Playstation until 4am the night before a match, then modernity isn't all that great.

We live in a world where there is little incentive to work hard, to sweat until you're exhausted.. Modern guys prefer to post photos with their hair done on Instagram rather than putting their heads down and pedaling.. These are not the values that my Italy should convey.”

“You need to come to the national team with sparkling eyes and pounding hearts, players should be like a pack of wolves, following each other to push their teammates forward and not leave anyone behind.

The Italians demand a cool and responsible team, tough and courageous. People come to the national team to win the European Championship, not to win Call of Duty,” the Italian said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Let us remind you that in March Spalletti’s team will play two friendly matches in preparation for Euro 2024. Italy will play Venezuela and Ecuador.
