Organizers of the Australian Grand Prix have announced changes to rules for the 2024 weekend following an incident after last year's race in which fans forced their way onto the track. Following this, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) launched an investigation.
“The Australian Grand Prix advises that given the ongoing FIA investigation into fan violations following the 2023 event, we are forced to close track access to spectators following the 2024 Australian Grand Prix.
Decisions regarding spectator access to the track at the end of future races will be made at a later date,” the Australian Grand Prix said in a statement.
Let us remember that the organizers of the Australian Grand Prix previously allowed sponsors and fans to visit the track after the end of the race, when there were no cars left on it.
