The 32-year-old captain of the Ukrainian men's biathlon team, Dmitry Pidruchny, spoke about his expectations from the World Championships in Nove Mesto.
“Each World Championship is special, there are more emotions than before the usual stages of the World Cup or the European Championship. I tried to do my best in the conditions that were there. I hope that I prepared well enough.
I always liked competing here, the unforgettable atmosphere from the fans. Before the war there were many Ukrainians here. Biggest memory? This is 2015, when we finished third in the mixed relay – this was the first time I finished in the prizes in the relay. Silver in 2020 in the men's relay? This is also a good result, I remembered it. There were a lot of good results here, I visited the flowers, and in different races. The memories with this stadium are special, let's just say.”
