Shooting during Kansas City Chiefs championship parade threatens 2026 World Cup

On the night of Wednesday, February 14, during the Kansas City Chiefs championship parade to celebrate their victory in Super Bowl LVIII, a mass shooting occurred, as a result of which one person was killed and 21 were injured, including eight children.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas expressed concern about the incident, saying it was difficult to find a safe place in the United States right now.

“Parades, rallies, schools, cinemas – almost nothing seems safe,” the mayor was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

This situation raises questions about safety during the future World Cup in 2026, which will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico, because foreign fans may suffer during the tournament.
