As part of the 17th round of the Spanish Championship, Valencia met Barcelona at home.
Already at the start of the match, Roman Yaremchuk, who unexpectedly entered the field at the start, did a great job with the ball in the visitors' penalty area and shot dangerously at goal, but Iñaki Pena coped with his shot.
In the 18th minute, the bats goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili had to enter the game, which he successfully coped with after a shot from Robert Lewandowski.
After 10 minutes, the duel between the Georgian and the Pole was repeated and Mamardashvili emerged victorious again.
In the 34th and 37th minutes, respectively, Pedri and Hugo Duro exchanged chances, but both Spaniards shot wide.
We saw the goals scored after the break. The first of them happened at the start of the second half of the match, its author was João Felix. The Portuguese received a pass from Raphinha and easily sent the ball into the goal.
Hugo Guillamon responded to Felix in the 71st minute. The centerback ended up with the ball after a tricky pass from his partner and sent the ball into the top corner of Pena’s goal with a wonderful shot from outside the penalty area.
Barcelona tried to win back until the last minutes of the match, but none of the attempts led to a goal being scored.
As a result, Barcelona quite unexpectedly lost points with Valencia, which thanks to this result was equal in points with Rayo Vallecano (both teams have 20 – approx.) and rose to 10th place in La Liga. The Catalans are in third position with 35 points, but Atlético, who have only one point less, have a game in hand.
Yaremchuk did not have any chances to score a goal or an effective pass, not counting the chance in the 2nd minute, but overall he played a good match and was replaced in the 62nd minute. Sergi Canos came on instead of the Ukrainian.
