The first racket of Ukraine Vitaly Sachko spoke about the match against the US team in the Davis Cup.
“Honestly, we always have the highest expectations, but our opponent is very difficult and we understand this very well. I hope that the guys and I will be able to show our best tennis. I admit, I'm looking forward to this meeting. Representing Ukraine has always been an honor and pride for me throughout my life.
The USA team is a very serious opponent, not only for us, but for any team. They have a lot of experienced players who are much higher than us in the rankings. But in tennis, the rating does not play for you on the court, the ball is round and anything can happen.
Unfortunately, we cannot play this match at home, but I hope that our people living in Lithuania will be able to come and support us in this difficult match.
Personally, I feel good physically, I try to constantly keep in shape by training. We start training with the guys from the national team on Sunday. Everyone is constantly training, so I think they are doing well in that regard too.”
Let us remind you that the Davis Cup match between the national teams of Ukraine and the USA will take place on February 1-2 on the courts of the SEB Arena in Vilnius.
