OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, after another failure of the chatbot, announced that it is facing DDoS attacks. A group has claimed responsibility for them, blaming the company for its response to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict..

Over the past 24 hours, ChatGPT users have had problems accessing the chatbot. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman initially blamed the problem on the influx of users that “ far exceeded expectations.”

However, in the end, OpenAI reported that they were observing “ intermittent crashes” in ChatGPT and its API, which allows developers to integrate the model into their own programs.

“We are dealing with intermittent outages due to abnormal traffic reflecting a DDoS attack,” reads the latest status update on the OpenAI website.

TechCrunch notes that the hacker group Anonymous Sudan has claimed responsibility for the likely attack.. In messages on Telegram, Anonymous Sudan claims that the reason they are targeting OpenAI is “ the company's general bias towards Israel and against Palestine.”
