Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey's social network Bluesky plans to launch a public web version before the end of this month.

From launch until now, Bluesky has remained an invitation-only program. New users could only join by receiving a special code. Codes were provided to existing users in limited quantities. But even despite this limitation, the platform was able to attract 2 million users ( this is one million more than it was in September). And in a matter of days, Bluesky will become publicly available.

“We'll be releasing the web interface to the public around the end of this month.. Thanks to this, you will be able to view publications on Bluesky without logging into your account. This will make publishing on Bluesky much more accessible, which will be especially useful for real-time commenting and breaking news,” Bluesky said in a blog post.

This could make the social network even more popular and increase its competition with X ( until July 2023 – Twitter). At the same time, Bluesky still doesn't allow you to create personal accounts, which may make it an attractive platform for many users.

Let us remind you that Bluesky was created on the initiative of Twitter Inc.. on the development of a decentralized social network protocol ( AT Protocol). Bluesky began testing at the end of October 2022, and it became available to the general public in May 2023. Bluesky's board of directors includes Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey.
