Security issues. Microsoft mistakenly banned ChatGPT for workers

Microsoft>

Microsoft, which has invested billions of dollars in OpenAI, has temporarily banned its employees from using the company's popular AI chatbot ChatGPT.

“Although Microsoft has invested in OpenAI and ChatGPT has built-in protections to prevent inappropriate use, the website is nonetheless an external third party service. This means you should be careful when using it due to privacy and security risks. This also applies to any other external AI services, such as Midjourney or Replika,” said an update on Microsoft’s internal site, as cited by CNBC.

After information about the ban hit the media, the company resumed access to ChatGPT. Microsoft said the temporary blocking of ChatGPT was a mistake.

“We were testing management systems for large language models and inadvertently turned this on for all employees. We resumed service shortly after we discovered our error. As we have previously noted, we encourage employees and customers to use services such as Bing Chat Enterprise and ChatGPT Enterprise, which provide greater levels of privacy and security protection,” a company spokesperson said.

The blocking incident occurred amid problems with ChatGPT.. As NV Techno wrote, the chatbot faces attacks that negatively affect its work. The hacker group Anonymous Sudan took responsibility for them.
