Group voice chats will soon be available to all users in the WhatsApp messenger. Back in August they appeared in the beta version of the application.

“Now available: voice chat for large groups! “You'll soon be able to discuss this live with those who can join, or continue chatting with those who can't,” reads an announcement on the WhatsApp X page.

WhatsApp group voice chat interface is similar to Discord. The feature is designed to interfere with users as little as possible. To join a voice chat on WhatsApp, you don’t need to accept a call – just use the appropriate prompt that will appear in the text chat when the conversation is started, writes TechCrunch.

During a conversation, users will be able to continue chatting, mute or mute their microphone, and join and leave the chat as needed.

The company is expected to launch voice chats worldwide in the coming weeks, but the company has not announced exact dates.. Large groups will be the first to use them ( more than 33 people).

WhatsApp says group calls will be protected with end-to-end encryption by default. At the same time, it is not specified whether the IP address protection function during calls, which, as NV Techno wrote, was introduced the day before, will be available.
