Last month X ( Twitter), owned by Elon Musk, has changed the appearance of posts containing links, removing any titles from them. The controversial update is now being abandoned.

The innovation provided that links look like images without titles. Musk explained its implementation by purpose improve the aesthetics” of the platform.

This update made link posts on the platform significantly less informative, requiring users to click on those URLs to find out what an article was talking about.

To remedy the situation, many sites began to write their own titles on images, publish links without previews, or add the title to the text of posts. Therefore, in the end, Musk decided to abandon the idea.

“In the next release, X will overlay a title at the top of the URL card image,” he wrote in X.
