Not all drivers know when to turn on the turn indicator and when not to.. Especially in cases when you are driving on the main road and it changes direction. There is a fine for violating the rules for using turn signals.
The fine for violating the rules for using warning signals when starting to move or changing its direction is 510 UAH. The police explained in what cases it is necessary to turn on the turn signal.
According to. 9.2 of the traffic rules of Ukraine, the driver must give signals with turn signals in the appropriate direction before starting to move, stopping and before changing lanes, turning or turning around.
Next, the driver needs to find out: ahead there is a bend in the main road with a junction of a secondary one or a Y-shaped intersection.
This is important in order to understand whether he is making a maneuver, continuing to move along the main road, or leaving it.
The driver sees a combination of signs, as in Figure 1.
The driver is going to move along the main road, therefore, will make a right or left turn at the intersection. Therefore, it is necessary to warn other drivers about this.
If you need to move straight (pull straight onto a secondary road), then you do not need to signal with a turn signal.
The driver sees a combination of signs, as in Figure 2.
If the driver is driving on a main road, he needs to signal with the right turn signal, since he will be making a right turn (and this does not depend on the angle of the roads).
If he needs to move to the secondary lane, that is, move straight, do not touch the turn signal.
The driver sees a combination of signs, as in Figure 3.
The sign indicates the bend in the road. This is a complex intersection. There may not have been a sign in front of this intersection.. It was installed so that drivers could know in advance that the main road has a curve.
In this case, when continuing to drive along the main road, there is no need to signal with a turn signal.
But if the driver is going to enter a secondary road, he will make a left turn maneuver and, when approaching the intersection, he must signal this.
