Mercedes-Benz presented the updated S-Class: what has changed

The German automaker presented the restyling of its flagship sedan. Now future S-Class owners will be able to choose a car in two new body colors.

Mercedes-Benz has added new colors to the range of available S-Class colors called Green Silver Metallic and Velvet Brown Metallic. In addition, the automaker has added headrests with cushions as standard equipment.

The autonomous capabilities of the S-Class, which comes standard with Level 3 self-driving technology, have been significantly improved. The German automaker has equipped the car with an automatic lane change function.

Now the driver does not have to touch the turn signal switch, because the car itself can change lanes to get ahead of a slow car. Previously, this option was only available for the US market.

Mercedes-Benz has improved the MBUX infotainment system. The updated system allows you to stream RIDEVU video from Sony. The new S-Class will also now be offered with a passenger presence reminder system.

The German automaker has not changed its engine lineup. The S-Class will still be offered with six-cylinder engines, or a V8 in some markets. The S580e plug-in hybrid is also available.

Mercedes-Benz announced that the first updated cars will arrive at dealers at the end of July. The current price for the S500 4MATIC version is $117,300. The cost of the updated model may increase slightly.
