'The greatest sacrifice of all': Hollow Knight: Silksong fans threaten to delete their own forum in hopes of attracting the attention of developers

Today, February 14, 2024, the announcement of the action platformer Hollow Knight: Silksong from the Australian studio Team Cherry turns exactly five years old. The fan community, waiting for news, decided to celebrate the memorable date in an unusual way.

Let us remind you that the last time players heard about Hollow Knight: Silksong was last May, when the developers announced that the release was being postponed indefinitely. Since then – not a single message, news, presentation or show.

The GamesRadar portal noticed that in an attempt to attract the attention of Team Cherry, the Hollow Knight: Silksong community on the Reddit forum, numbering 34 thousand members, was preparing to self-destruct.

It's difficult to track down exactly who started the flash mob, but as the anniversary approached, there were increasing calls on the platform for the subreddit to be sacrificed ( “the greatest sacrifice of all” ) in exchange for potential news about the game.

The community (the moderators were aware of the mood of the users) was preparing to carry out its gloomy verdict on February 14, but the day is drawing to an end, and no one has yet pulled the trigger.

Team Cherry did not respond to threats from the Hollow Knight: Silksong subreddit. It was assumed that the game could be shown at an unannounced Nintendo Direct presentation, supposedly scheduled for February 15, but Nintendo has not yet confirmed the show.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is being created for PC (Steam, GOG), PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch and Game Pass (PC and Xbox). They promise a variety of locations, new skills, more than 150 types of enemies and shocking secrets.
