A Baldur's Gate 3 player accidentally uploaded a video of the game to Xbox cloud services and was banned for a whole year.

Reddit user Daddy-Vegas said he was banned from playing any games that require an Xbox network connection.. This happened after a player accidentally uploaded three screen recordings from the game Baldur's Gate 3 to Xbox cloud services.. The video, he said, depicted “ naked fun at the camp” ( which shouldn't be surprising considering this game's PEGI 18 rating).

After automatic loading, Xbox gave the user one warning for each video. The first one was subject to a four-day ban, and the last one was subject to a 366-day ban.

The appeal process did not yield any results for the player. In response to the appeal, Xbox stated that “ Having considered the request, we came to the conclusion that the application of sanctions is justified.”

Insider Gaming repository notes that many players may find themselves in this situation, since by default the settings provide for automatic sending of entries to the cloud Xbox.

Let's remember that the game was released on Xbox only in early December – many months after the launch of PlayStation or PC. RPG Baldur's Gate 3 has already received a number of awards. The game received the main award at The Game Awards, as well as the Player's Voice award ( the only nomination where the winner is determined by the votes of the players).

Baldur's Gate 3 also received the maximum possible number of Steam Awards 2023 – two. In addition to the main award, it was also noted as the game with the best story.
