Lenovo showed a laptop with a transparent display at the annual mobile technology exhibition MWC 2024 in Barcelona. It was called the Lenovo ThinkBook Transparent Project Crystal Laptop.
According to the company, the laptop has a 17.3-inch micro-LED display with a peak brightness of up to 1000 nits, a frameless screen and a touch panel. The efficiency of the device should be increased by Artificial Intelligence Generated Content. Artificial intelligence can supposedly interact with objects that are visible through a transparent screen and overlay digital information on them.
The developers claim that the transparency factor can be adjusted for privacy. So that it is not visible what the user is doing behind the screen. However, Mashable journalists question this, because they were not shown exactly how the function works.
They also said that the new Lenovo ThinkBook runs on Windows 11. The camera is not located in the usual place on top, but along the base of the laptop. It is directed towards the screen, not the user. The developers demonstrated how this camera looks at an object, and then artificial intelligence provides information about it.
Attention was also paid to the keyboard. It is sensory, which will have to get used to. However, it will be possible to turn it off and turn it into a solid touchpad.
The developers did not give more technical characteristics. Journalists assume that this is because the concept is not designed for mass users.
We will remind you that in May 2022 it became known how Chinese technology giants Lenovo and Xiaomi left the Russian market under the pressure of sanctions. However, they did it without public statements.
