NVIDIA has announced the release of a public beta version of its new application called NVIDIA App, which will combine the functions of the NVIDIA Control Panel, GeForce Experience and RTX Experience. Users will receive modern software for managing GeForce graphics settings, functional and easy to use.

Many NVIDIA users don't like the company's current software: the control panel is outdated in terms of interface and user experience, and the GeForce Experience application is too bloated and cumbersome, and also requires an online account login. After all, it would be much more convenient to have a single application that would allow you to customize both graphics and individual games.
NVIDIA App is just such a solution. It is a modern application that combines all the features of GeForce Experience and most of the features of the NVIDIA Control Panel. The app lets you configure game and driver settings in one place, and introduces an updated in-game overlay for easy access to gameplay recording tools, performance monitoring overlays, and image filters, including innovative new AI-powered filters for GeForce RTX users. It is also noted that the NVIDIA App does not require an online login, although it does have an option, so all online features from GeForce Experience, such as bonuses and game packs, will still be available in the NVIDIA App.
The new app will be a central place to view and change GPU settings and apply optimizations for games, allowing you to customize settings for individual apps and games, or use global profiles for all games and apps.
“What’s new” and “What’s fixed” items appeared on the driver information page, as well as brief explanations of game support. All driver-related articles are available in one carousel, so users can read about gaming announcements or technologies related to the latest driver.
Separately, NVIDIA notes the redesigned in-game overlay. As before, users will be able to use the Alt+Z keyboard shortcut to quickly access Shadowplay screen recording tools, Freestyle filters, NVIDIA Highlights utility, NVIDIA Ansel photo mode and performance monitoring tools. NVIDIA App also enables video capture via Shadowplay at 120 FPS. Recorded content will now be available in the gallery thanks to convenient thumbnails.
By the way, NVIDIA App offers new Freestyle filters based on artificial intelligence, accelerated by tensor cores in GeForce RTX GPUs. The RTX Dynamic Vibrance filter is an improved version of the Digital Vibrance feature in NVIDIA Control Panel. It enhances image clarity on a per-app basis, giving players a flexible and convenient way to customize visual settings for each game. The colors on the screen become more vibrant, but the image quality and immersion are maintained.
And the Freestyle RTX HDR filter will add high dynamic range (HDR) to games that didn't natively have HDR support. The RTX HDR filter will be able to convert SDR images on the fly in a wide range of games running on DX12, DX11, DX9 and Vulkan platforms.
NVIDIA also improved performance monitoring with a new overlay. Gamers can now customize the display of performance parameters during a gaming session with options to minimize system load. Additionally, gamers can now choose which performance metrics they would like to see during a gaming session. The keyboard shortcut “Alt+R” allows you to toggle performance monitoring statistics.
Going forward, NVIDIA promises to integrate the remaining features of the NVIDIA Control Panel into the new application, including display and video settings. Additionally, several attributes from GeForce Experience and RTX Experience will be added, such as GPU overclocking and driver rollback functionality. During beta testing, the NVIDIA App, select GeForce Experience applications, and the NVIDIA Control Panel will continue to be available.
However, not all functions from the old software will be transferred to the new one.. With the NVIDIA App, the developer aims to improve the user experience, improve performance and introduce innovations in the field of RTX. To achieve this, NVIDIA has decided to discontinue some less popular features, including streaming on Twitch and YouTube, sharing images and videos on Facebook✴ and YouTube, as well as 360-degree photo mode and stereo shooting.
The developers claim that the NVIDIA App installs twice as fast, is also “50% more responsive” and takes up 17% less disk space than GeForce Experience. As Hot Hardware notes, you can really feel the difference when using the application: it installs almost instantly, launches very quickly, pages open and load instantly. The user interface is clean and intuitive without being too sparse.
You can download the beta version of NVIDIA App today from the company's official website. For a limited time, NVIDIA App Beta users can earn rewards in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone that will reward players with Double XP and Double Weapon XP for an hour.
