Oldest in the world. Rare tumor with teeth found in ancient Egyptian burial

During excavations in an ancient Egyptian cemetery, archaeologists discovered an ovarian tumor with teeth inside. This find, according to official data, is 3000 years old, which makes it the oldest known to science
The tumor, a mass of bone with two teeth, is the oldest known example of a teratoma, a rare tumor that usually occurs in the ovaries or testicles.
Teratoma can be either benign or malignant tumor, consisting of a variety of tissues, including muscle, hair, teeth and bones. Teratomas can cause pain and swelling and, if ruptured, often lead to infection.Treatment involves removing the tumor.

Before this discovery, only four archaeological examples of teratomas were known, of which three were in Europe and one in Peru. But the discovery of a tumor in the ancient city of Amarna, Egypt, which was founded around 1345 BC. BC, is the fifth published case of an archaeological discovery of a teratoma and the oldest in the world.
The Egyptian city of Amarna was a temporary city that served as a center of cultic worship of Pharaoh Akhenaten and the sun god Aten. Archaeologists were investigating four major cemeteries associated with Amarna and discovered a tumor in a woman aged 18 to 21 who was buried with a ring adorned with the figure of Bes, a deity associated with childbirth, fertility and protection.. The tumor was found in the woman's pelvis.Teeth were found in it, which is a characteristic sign of ovarian teratoma.
Scientists suggest that a woman could use an object with the symbolism of the god Bes as magical protection against pain and symptoms caused by a tumor, or to aid in conception and childbirth.
The discovery adds new archaeological evidence and information about ancient medical practices and beliefs about disease and its treatment in ancient Egypt.
