Microsoft has released a preview of the Windows App that lets you play Windows 365 on Apple devices ( iPhone, iPad, Mac). This service gives you full access to Windows 11 or Windows 10 from any device.

Windows App lets you connect to Windows 365 cloud PCs, AVD/RemoteApps desktops, RDS, Remote Desktop Services, or Microsoft Dev Box from a wide variety of devices.

“You can use the Windows program on different types of devices across different platforms and form factors, such as desktops and laptops, tablets, smartphones, and through a web browser. Using a web browser on your desktop or laptop, you can connect without having to download and install software,” Microsoft explains in a blog post.

Through the Windows App you can already manage multiple monitors, audio devices, webcams, printers, storage devices, and the like.. Microsoft has already launched an application for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, but the Android version is not yet available. In addition, the functionality is currently limited to business accounts.

The Verge notes that Microsoft has had similar programs for remotely connecting to computers for the past decades, so a Windows App is not something unusual for the company. However, the app's arrival could signal an expansion of Microsoft's ambitions to move Windows entirely to the cloud.

“Windows App could provide the foundation for consumers to access cloud-based PCs and Windows apps on devices that don't run Microsoft's operating system,” says senior editor Tom Warren.
