A car that shakes itself off snow: video

The Chinese manufacturer published a short video in which it showed how the Nio ET9 luxury sedan with the Sky Ride intelligent chassis literally shakes off the snow.

This is similar to how dogs groom themselves: the body of the car sways from side to side, throwing off layers of snow. He fails to completely get rid of the cover, but the bulk still falls off.

The Nio ET9 active suspension was developed in collaboration with the American company ClearMotion, founded by graduates of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The main element of the system is the Activalve modules, which respond to the movement of the rod in just five milliseconds, pushing or, conversely, pulling the wheel as needed. Valves are controlled separately. In addition to “shaking out”, the electro-hydraulic suspension also performs a more familiar function – they make the ride more comfortable, leveling out the effect of road irregularities.

The ground clearance is adjustable within a range of 90 millimeters, and the body can be completely lowered or raised in just two seconds, Nio assures.

ET9 is the 5.3-meter flagship sedan of the young Chinese company Nio, which is tipped to rival Mercedes-Maybach and Rolls-Royce. The electric car is promised a fully controlled chassis, 900-volt architecture, a removable battery, and four monitors in the cabin.

The ET9 twin-engine power plant develops 707 horsepower, and the battery capacity will be 120 kilowatt-hours.. The power reserve is not disclosed, but it will be possible to replenish energy for 255 kilometers in just five minutes. Deliveries should begin in 2025. Orders for ET9 are already being accepted, the cost starts from 111 thousand dollars.
