Which new cars in the US are the least reliable?

The Consumer Reports rating, although it concerns only the American market, is also useful for Ukrainians, because the market for “damaged” cars from the USA remains quite active.

Consumer Reports has released a ranking of the least reliable 2023 cars on the U.S. market.

The non-profit organization Consumer Reports was created back in 1936 and is engaged in testing various products, in particular cars.. The organization collects reports from owners of more than 330,000 vehicles to determine which are the most and least reliable.

Workers collect all the details about the vehicle’s operating history, including such minor things as squeaking brakes or cracking plastic in the interior, or failures during charging in electric vehicles.. The company's experts summarize the data received and evaluate cars from 0 to 100 points in order to present the ten most reliable and most problematic cars at the end of the year.

It is significant that there are no Honda, Toyota or Lexus cars on the list, and the only representative from the Japanese brand is the Nissan Frontier pickup (seventh place). It scored better than the other two pickups in the rankings—the Ford F-150 hybrid (third) and the only electric vehicle, the Rivian R1T (fifth).

If we take the general results among automakers, Stellantis showed the worst results. Four models of this concern were included in the anti-rating. However, three Jeep models did not finish worst: the Wrangler was in tenth place and the Grand Cherokee was in ninth place, while the Grand Cherokee L was in sixth place.

The top three anti-leaders were occupied by models from brands that were usually considered reliable. In particular, third place was taken by the Ford F-150, which, at first glance, may seem to be a standard of reliability.

The second place was taken by the compact budget crossover VW Taos; the Jetta model took ninth place in this anti-rating.

Last place (again bad news for Stellantis) went to the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, which, according to a Consumer Reports survey, was the least reliable car in America.
